Saff or Row Tombs
Although I still find the West Bank a little sad now that the villages have gone, it is now possible to see much more easily the archaeology. Taken late in the afternoon the photograph shows a row of saff or row tombs clearly in the hillside. Just below the saff tombs is the facade of another set of tombs carved into the rock. Originally carved and painted photographs show nearly all of the saff tombs are now filled with sand almost to the ceiling.
