Sheherazade has good business - mainly couples. Breakfast is often very slow as people are spread out through the garden. The old breakfast area on the ground floor of the new block has not been in use since the new restaurant opened at Christmas, and most people seem to prefer to eat outdoors than in the new restaurant.
To celebrate, Sheherazade is fitting air-conditioning to the remaining rooms. This will be good for the late season trade, but it means they have been drilling holes in the walls on a daily basis, starting at around 8am.
Fayrouz has had some busy nights, but also some very quiet ones. Again, they seem to have quite a few guests staying. The number of flights daily into Luxor has been rising, although very few are international. And there have regularly been 4 daily flights between Heathrow and Cairo.
