1000 Miles up the Nile - New Kingdom Temples
When Amelia Ann Blandford Edwards first made her remarkable journey along Egypt’s Nile Valley, little did she realise she would be the catalyst to a more scientific exploration of Egypt’s ancient past. Thrilled with the wonder of the monuments, on her return home she began her lifelong support of (and friendship with) William Matthew Flinders Petrie.
In studying selected temples of the New Kingdom this course seeks to explore not only New Kingdom temples as we know them today but also to look back to discover some of those same temples in the days of Amelia Edwards. Do join us as we explore together this new course: 1000 Miles Up The Nile – New Kingdom Temples. A warm welcome awaits.
