Had I made it to the entrance there were two staircases and two steep (20º) corridors to negotiate before reaching the first inscriptions in the Well Chamber. Down more stairs and corridors one reached an antechamber with inscriptions, but the tomb is mainly undecorated. Amenhotep III was arguably the greatest of all Pharaohs, and had a long reign of over 30 years. It is inconceivable that his tomb was not completed. There is quite possibly another, complete, unplundered tomb for this king just waiting to be discovered!
The hotel is completely full for a week - a course in French for university students, mainly from Tunisia, is being run here. The hotel did really well to gain this custom, as they have not been full since before the revolution except for a couple of nights one Xmas. The staff are coping quite well, and there are a few new faces temporarily until the party leaves next week.
