In real terms, a 500ml bottle of Stella is now about £1 in west bank cafe's and restaurants where it is available.
Wanting a coffee, I discovered that Panorama restaurant near Tuthmosis IV temple is currently closed. Rumours of "matrimonials". So I went to a small local bar, Sekhmet, by an Alabaster shop of the same name, on the road to Deir el-Bahri. Very good coffee and a small water cost Le20, but Tayeb had a tea and a shisha..
In the evening I visited Africa, overlooking the ferry port area. I include their menu - Le55 for a full meal. Stella was Le20. The quality of the food was excellent, and quantities were sensible. I nearly managed to eat everything! A group of 8 Spaniards ate nearby, but otherwise the place was quiet. The other pictures are of the 1st quarter moon, taken at the RRH.
