They seemed suitably satisfied that we had come to see our friend. I don't think they get many visitors at the moment.
Stan has been joined by our friend Cees van Sparrentak who moved in last April. A new concrete wall has been mostly completed around the cemetery and monastery. I hate these walls, but they seem to be normal for security around here.
In the evening, along with my kofta and chips, I enjoyed the last of the "Romy" cheese from Abydos that I had purchased in May 2014. It had kept perfectly, and tastes better back in Egypt than it dis in Worcester. I must restock soon.
The firework shot was taken in the direction of Marsam, where there had been an organised party. There were very few fireworks anywhere in Luxor at midnight. The RRH contributed a couple of hand-held Roman Candle style devices. These were fired from next to the patio area so all I got was a few bangs, some fizzle and the smell of cordite.
A last minute booking for a party from Luxor College of Art meant that the tent at Sheherazade was extended to cover most of the garden. The upper-Egyptian "music" continued until 01:15 and was annoyingly loud even in my room. But the hotel must make money where it can.
