Towards the hotel there are 2 steps that would be an obstacle to a wheelchair, but there is room to build a ramp. Then, as one approaches the hotel there is an area adjacent to the hotel's main public bathrooms which has easy access to water, electricity and sewerage. This would be my choice for building a new, European standard disabled bathroom.
One climbs one more step to enter the main hotel gardens. About 5" high and probably not a problem for a wheelchair. Then, on the left, are the main public bathrooms, but they are up a flight of 4 steps, with no handrail. There is no good way to access them.
There are 5 rooms on the ground floor of the hotel, with a 3" step in front of each one. A wheelchair could handle this. And in the corner there is the entrance to the atrium, up a similar step.
In the far corner of the atrium there is a small toilet that is currently used as a store-room. Perhaps this could be enlarged and turned into a disabled bathroom as it also has all required services.
Very few hotels and restaurants in Luxor have any decent disabled access, so I hope to convince Mohamed that this is the way forward. The amount of work required is about the same as for the recent kitchen extension.
