Further along the road, on the right hand side, the large monastery near the brick-works is developing a large, luxury hotel. Shame about the electricity pylons in the foreground. I assume that the target audience is pilgrims, as the location is far from ideal for the average tourist.
In the region of Nagada there is a roadside sign or gateway surmounted by a magnificent model mosque. I've not stopped to photograph it before.
The last picture sees Tayeb heading for a field of hibiscus. I took several more pictures of him surrounded by the bushes, and of another monastery, but they were accidentally erased during the complicated wi-fi transfer process. It took about an hour to successfully set up the wi-fi connection, and I must have hit a few wrong buttons while entering the various settings using only the buttons on the camera.
I still don't know where the cable disappeared to connect the camera to the computer, but the only likely place would be in the car. It may turn up under the floor mats.
