Then the new white apartment block that sprung up this spring appears to be complete, but the older 5 storey brick building erected in the garden behind Sheherazade 4 years ago is still unfinished.
A bee - mainly black with a bit of yellow, feeds near my table at Blue Sky. Ponies graze on the foreshore. Empty cruise boats move away from in front of Luxor Temple - only 2 remain. An unnamed dahabaya is towed upriver with a small party, maybe 8 people, on board. A double sculls boat warms up under the keen eye of an instruction boat. I have included a couple of the Blue Sky garden, one showing the orange tree heavy with green fruit.
It was very quiet everywhere today. But at the RRH in the evening a group of 4 donkey riders hitched their animals outside the perimeter wall while they (the riders) enjoyed a few stellae. It was too dark to get a decent picture of them, but this is the first time I have seen such a party at the RRH. I think that they were 3 foreign archaeologists and a donkey guide. Communicating in English but probably Spanish.
Fayrouz was not very busy - about 20 people. Service remains good, and the food was excellent (except for the ice crystals in the ice-cream, but I could have waited for them to thaw.
