I've not seen a fisherman with a barrel-shaped net before - he didn't catch much. There were interesting cloud-patterns in the sky.
A public ferry came downstream from the direction of Esna and moored on the East Bank between the arrival jetty and the departure jetty. I assume that there is a boatyard somewhere upstream. A felluca boy high up the yard was securing the sails.
In the evening I ate at Sunflower. The menu included Calzone, but neither the waiter/owner nor the chef knew what it was or how to make it. So instead I had a flat pizza. It was the best, thinnest crusted pizza that I have had in Egypt.
