I had a fairly small cooked breakfast before checking out. Reception insisted on payment in hard currency. Their plastic machine for reading foreign cards would not work (Socket Failure) so I persuaded the manager to accept my plastic for Egyptian Pounds in the other machine. It took nearly 30 minutes to complete the checkout, and I left my small bag with the porter before taking a taxi (20 Le) to the museum.
I arrived just in time for the morning session. "Guests" were not invited on the site visits to the Temple of Mut and the Emenophis III temple at Kom el Hattan. This was annoying, but understandable. Tayeb's son, Ahmed, picked me up, we collected my bag and drove to Hapy Habou. The speakers and delegates had just reached Kom el Hattan when we passed them. They were going on to Marsam for a final lunch.
Hapy Habou was busy: at least 5 small groups took their lunch today so I have a busier photograph for their facebook page.
