This morning the hotel was buzzing. Unfortunately it was the squealing, screaming infants that woke me up, but once I got to the garden for my breakfast peace had broken out.
Mohamed tells me that the hotel is fully booked for a few days. He and the staff were cleaning up after the storm. I took the opportunity of inviting him to inspect the toilet block near the swimming pool, on the assumption that it had not been properly cleaned for a while. He dragged one of the boys off in that direction, and soon there was a procession of cleaners with brooms, mops, etc., heading in that direction. On his way back, he stopped and thanked me. I don't think that he had previously understood the lack of effort in this department. When I visited, an hour or so later, the place was relatively clean, the bins had been emptied, but there was no toilet roll to be seen. I mentioned this to a member of staff and hope that the shortage is corrected.
Anyway, today is a sunny day - not a cloud to be seen. The LXR-LHR flight arrived on time at Heathrow. With luck it will not be delayed later.
