"Superficially resembles Barn Swallow, but told by its pale orange rump and nape, the latter separating blue back from blue cape; the underparts are buffish-white. Also more leisurely in flight, with longer periods of gliding. Less prone to flocking than other swallows and martins, and frequently seen in pairs. The nest, cup-shaped with an entrance tunnel, is made of mud and sited under a bridge or in a building or cave. In the Middle East, a summer visitor to Turkey and parts of the east Mediterranean, but resident in south-west Arabia; found on migration throughout the region, including Egypt."
I believe that this description fits my pair, and I got lucky. Mine are even more colourful than the one in the book.
As for the super blue blood moon, Luxor was very near the edge of the eclipse path, and it may be wishful thinking that the bottom left of my picture is slightly reddened. I include a later photograph for comparison that has no signs of eclipse. The lower left of the moon is still darker ...
