I tried a beer at Belzoni in mid-afternoon - probably not recommended - and had plenty of bottled water and fruit juices. I ate only an omelette and a little dry bread yesterday evening. I cracked open my pack of Imodium before going to bed, and managed to survive the night without wrecking the room again.
The silly thing is that I did not feel unwell.
So back to Day 9. I've added below a few pictures from Blue Sky. There was a full security lock-down on the river, with many boats being moved away so that a Nile Cruiser could more at the motor-boat docks. Police everywhere. Some several hundred guests went to Hatshepsut's temple and dined al-fresco. Streets were closed for several hours. There have been several different reasons given - an American tourism delegation, Germans, a wedding. It would be rash to suggest that such security is ott, but it must be offputting to tourists and locals in the area.
A couple of pictures of the full moon. It was difficult to judge the best exposure, and there was too much pollution for a really clear shot.
