First Helen went into TT1, Senedjem (see last month). Then we took the awkward path up to TT3, which is just below the French House. Walking across the slope was very difficult in my sandals, but I made it to the top.
Having recovered my breath, we headed into the tomb. I made it to the entrance down some very steep but even modern concrete steps. Then came the bit where one has to stoop and duck down the first passageway. I assessed the situation and admitted defeat, but told Helen which scene to photograph. I waited for news.
When she emerged, she had only taken a picture of the wrong scene, but reports that the Perspex is so dusty that a decent picture would have been impossible. I've added her picture of the wrong scene, which is on the right side of the entrance. It appears not to have been behind Perspex. Here are also some general pictures of the area. Helen then went on to revisit the other open tomb, TT290 Iri Nufer (I have been before). Details in the last slide.
Notice how clean and tidy the workmen's village is. I suspect that it is soon to be opened to the public.
