Sindbads was oh so quiet. A couple of locals came in to use the WC and that was it. Normally there will be a few tables of ex-Pats and tourists at some time in the morning. Even the cats, staff and touts were very laid back - it was almost impossible even to get served!
So we headed back to the West Bank. The RRH have installed a sprinkler onto a dead palm trunk in the garden and the flowers and bees were enjoying the water. A raptor flew over. But in general it was too hot even for the birds! Spoke for a while with a retired Norseman who has toured extensively over the last few years, but was enquiring about the Lost Oasis. We filled him in on the problems and costs of visiting it - it is near the Sudan/Libya border and getting permits is all but impossible.
Dinner was by the Nile at Hatshepsut's grill/coffee shop - cheap and cheerful. Kofta, bread, tahini, babaganouch and salad for LE40 with a good view.
