Tayib's oldest daughter gets married on Saturday.
The wedding itself will take place on Saturday: the entrance to the compound was being decorated when we drove past this morning. The immediate consequence of all this is that I am taking full covid precautions whenever I have been in the car: mask, sanitizer, fresh air, and as much social distancing as possible. I may even take the occasional test over the next few days.
Tayib of course says that there is no more covid in Egypt. He has had his first 2 jabs. I think that his wife has as well. That just leaves a few hundred friends, neighbours, children, etc., who could be a threat to my health. If I were to get seriously ill then his income would plummet.
I apologise for not posting on the blog more often, but most of my news is distributed on my Facebook page.
It has been the coldest winter in 28 years, and only today have I left the hotel without my heavy winter jacket and scarf. I have hardly spent any time at the RRH in 2022 - it has been too cool and windy, and I won't sit indoors unless absolutely necessary.
A couple of weeks ago I was shown some trinkets allegedly found in the Tombs of the Nobles. This copper/bronze handle was my favourite, but I am not in the market for any acquisitions.
