So I caught up with some of my Family History research, updated my Luxor West Bank site and generally lazed around all day. I had been told that the International Festival of Stickdancing would be performing on the West Bank, and parked myself on the roof of Nile Valley hotel to watch. Needless to say they did not show up - this is Egypt after all.

There is something very peaceful about watching the sun set in this location - the skeins of birds flew down the river valley towards Karnak just as the sun was setting.
wine. It was satisfactory, but not exciting. The Man. Utd. flag should have been a dead giveaway, and they were playing Abba music when we arrived. Had it been a selection of Christmas music we would have walked straight by. But after a few
minutes the music stopped, and peace reigned.
We should have gone to Nile Flowers, next door, but will leave that for another day.
