On Thursday, at the Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III, another large statue was found in the cultivation behind the Merneptah Museum. I might have to go back to Sheik Ali/Marsam to see what is visible! Because of the location I assume that is the partner of the 44ft statue of Amenhotep III already found at what is presumably the northern gate to the temple.
The pictures are of a collared dove on its nest in the garden at Fayrouz hotel. I didn't disturb the bird, even at a range of 2 feet. The nest looks tiny and fragile. If the eggs hatch over the next 10 days I'll try to get another shot. I'm surprised that the cats have not yet shown an interest! I've added also of a collared dove that has been resting in the top of the ancient chandellier in the reception dome at Sheherezade. Also a couple in the branches of a date palm at the Ramesseum Rest House.
With Stella at LE25 he will probably not get many returning visitors, although I am informed that his food is as good as ever.
