If you don't want to visit my map on the luxor-west-bank site I will describe the location. It is on the west bank of the Nile, directly opposite the Sheraton Hotel.
The first restaurant is Aladdin. It has a good path down to a landing stahe, and there was a steady stream of motor boats and fellucas arriving with a variety of nationalities. The menu prices are high - they include 100% mark-up as an introduction fee for the tour companies that visit them. No beer, but cola in 15, tea 7 and coffee 10. The food looked acceptable, although very 'fast'. I was expecting to pay £E47 for what Tayib and I had, but was only charged 25 as Tayib never accepts commission for his services.
One of my beverages was Dom Juice - I have never tried it and found it quite interesting. The Dom is a palm tree, and the fruit is a close relative of cocoa and coffee. If it had been filtered it would have been quite nice, but the 'grounds' were too large.
