When I arrived for breakfast there were more staff than usual, and many of them wore facemasks. Some correctly, some covering their chins and some hanging from one ear.
A couple of strangers, presumably guests, were smoking shisha at the table just inside the main gate. Preparations were being made for a buffet later in the day.
One member of staff in particular caught my attention, sitting at a nearby table with his mask dangling from one ear. He was wrapping up sets of cutlery in paper napkins. Nothing unusual about that, except for the way he was wiping the dust off the cutlery with his fingers. I will be particularly careful at breakfast over the next few days to make sure I sanitise my cutlery and crockery before use.
And two large loudspeakers were set up, plugged into the outlet which is dedicated to the garden wifi. Apart from the loss of the wifi, the noise at 10am was atrocious. They turned them down a little. But if they are having a party I doubt if I will sleep much tonight.
Talking about sleep, I thought that the rules were that a hotel was not allowed to be above 50% occupancy during the pandemic, assuming that they are certificated to be open at all.
On the bright side, when I last visited an ATM, it was being cleaned properly, and the staff member there took photographs of it to show that he had done the work. Not that the notes dispensed will be clean, but that is another problem.
It is nice and peaceful up at Habou Garden today. about 21C and clear, with no wind.
I won't add any pictures to this post. But I will have the camera ready at breakfast tomorrow to record any transgressions.
