What mystifies me is the apparent stupidity of the coach drivers or guides, who all visit the same 3 sites, KV, Hatshepsut and Medinet Habu, in the same order at the same time. No doubt there was a crush at Memnon later.
The wind was blowing a gale up at Hapy Habou - it comes around the mountain and converges on my table under the awning. And the staff always turn on their Egyptian music at about 4:30, even if I am the only customer and there is no passing trade. I was glad to leave for the tranquillity of the RRH. The wind was much lighter there, and no music.
I ate again at Fayrouz, where the wind was blowing the smoke from the fire cauldrons everywhere. The owner/manager quickly removed them to the other side of the garden, apologising for the mayhem that they were causing.
The moon is two days from full, so there are very few sharp features visible. I couldn't decide which was my best photo today, so have included three.
By the time that I post this it will be Christmas in New Zealand, so may I take this opportunity to wish everybody a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
