There have been a few more guests than last year, with several groups eating or lounging by the pool. One or two have even ventured into it. Being unheated it will have been very chilly!
Anyway, with a little money coming in it is always interesting to see where it is spent. One might think that a little care and maintenance would be appropriate - the thatched roofs on the rotunda and alder dining area are in dire need of attention. The garden needs more attention. Electrics need checking.
So I was somewhat surprised to see the arrival of 10 bar stools. I assume that they were available at a very good price from a failing establishment elsewhere. Their design looks unstable, and no doubt they will be clambered on by unsupervised small children. After all "this is Egypt".
Seeing as the new pool bar is very incomplete - it has no bar top, no plumbing, no storage and insufficient electrical outlets - it is unlikely that these new stools will be used this season. And if all 10 were placed round the new bar they would completely fill the area.
I expect that management have a good story-line. I will ask when I see them.
