The dicker was facing away from the birds and boats, so as to be inconspicuous. It was also hidden by a large Toyota land cruiser of dubious vintage so that the authorities could not immediately see me.
I suspect that, over the next few days or weeks I will manage to rotate and/or relocate it so as to be more comfortable viewing the river.
Anyway, the pictures that I offer today are different from previous years: the sun-birds were lining up on the rigging, a hawk was hard to focus on at the top of a mast, exposures were different, and the kingfishers were on the jetty rather than on boats or flying. Not once did one of them attempt a catch!
