There were large numbers of white birds floating around, but they didn't come close enough for identification. Some kind of small gull or tern.
The newly repainted felluca, Sunflower, went for a trial sail. But there was no wind so it was rowed and poled a few yards. 2 other fellucas were extremely heavily loaded as they were poled and then towed in the direction of Banana Island. It is the start of the Egyptian tourist season. Those cruise-boats that departed appeared more than half-full as well.
