Ram V/VI is the best of the tombs that I have visited. Delightfully quiet and with only a gentle ramp. Of course the guardian made life difficult by pointing out all the gods that he had memorised. One day I will learn how to pay for silence.
They were only taking about 10 at a time into KV62 which I have not visited before. The initial steps are quite steep but there are only about 30 in 2 flights. I let a party of Thais go through first - the guardian spent his time hassling them, so I mainly had a quiet time. Tut's mummy is on display covered with a simple sheet - only his head and feet are showing. Only the burial chamber is decorated, and the only artefacts in the tomb are a coffin with a mask. I knew that this tomb was tiny, but it was even smaller than I expected. Would I visit it again? No. It is very poor value, but I have now 'ticked' it.
No effort was being made to stop photography with phones and small tablets so I took one on my phone. The Qurn shows up really clearly at 8am, and you can count the visitors easily!
At 9am it is already 28C so I will be having a lazy day. If anything happens I will update this blog later.
