Desert Rose is clean, with a good bathroom and decent seating. There are power sockets indoors but not in the garden so I may have to carry a longer lead if I am to use it as a base this winter. Free wi-fi is good, and the 355ml cans of soft drinks are EGP14.
There was some construction on the roof next to Hapy Habou - it looks like somebody may be creating a covered roof area. If it becomes a new restaurant it will have a superb view, but without a lift I may never get to experience it.
Only 4 large tour coaches visited Medinet Habou, and there were a few small groups. 2 visitors passed me presumably going to visit the Temple of Thoth: Kasr Agouz. They did not spend long there.
The customers at Desert Rose were mainly locals: tea and sheesha were the main attractions. Only one of the policemen came in for a cup of tea. I assume that they are missing the free wi-fi at Hapy Habou and that the Rose is not as amenable.
After a short visit to the RRH I ate again at Fayrouz. See my FaceBook page for more information.
