No questions were asked of me as I took up a position on the roof of the Panaroma, I was not stopped, searched or even identified. While there were plenty of police, tourist police, army, central security and an Apache helicopter around those living along the road could view easily. It would have been very easy for an incident to have happened, but none did.
President Xi visited the tombs of Seti I and Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings from about 9:15, spent some 40 minutes at the Temple of Hatshepsut and then moved on to the tomb of Nefertari in the Valley of the Queens. He stopped briefly at the Colossi of Memnon before returning to the East Bank by road. In the afternoon he visited Karnak temple before flying to Teheran. A larger group of maybe 120 to 150 Chinese followed along about an hour later, but I don't know what they visited. President Sisi returned to Cairo after yesterday's concert.
I include a video of the main cavalcade passing Khokha.
It was Stan's birthday today so we took him a Stella. One of his neighbours at the cemetery has been left a couple of packets of biscuits.
