The flight was about 1/2 an hour late, but when it arrived it was efficiently operated. It arrived, of course, at gate 201 at the extreme NE end of the Istanbul terminal building. The 7 travelators between there and passport control, or the swap for onward flights, were all working, so I bade farewell to the youngsters who were on the 0745 to Manchester. I had an extra 15 minutes for the 0800 to Birmingham, which was to depart from gate 504 at the extreme SW end of the airport. A quick dash through dutyfree used up all the spare time, but I arrived at the gate ay 0750, in time for the last coach across the tarmac to my plane.
It was not completely full, and service was again good. We arrived at Birmingham about 1015. My luggage was about the first off the belt and I got a train to New Street. As there was a waiting train further along the platform for Wolverhampton I did not even consider a direct one to Worcester. The easy change at Smethwick Galton Bridge meant that I was in Worcester, knackered, at 1210. The Postal Order (Wetherspoons) is nearer to the rail station than my bus stop so ...
