At the bottle bank (duty free) I bought my usual brands. They are priced in US$ but any currency including LE£ is accepted. So the assistant added up the price in US$. As I had some Euros I asked for the conversion. she grabbed a number from this air rather than using a computer or calculator, and as it sounded too high I challenged it. This resulted in the owner looking up the conversion on his computer, which took quite a while. But it saved me LE£25, so felt justified.
Back to the hotel in the hope of catching up with some Internet work, but the power cuts continued. I headed up to the RRH at sunset. This of course triggered a one hour cut in Gurna, but you hardly notice this at the RRH as it hasso few lights anyway. The mountains remained illuminated and I could see my glass of Stella so all was well.
The sheik's tomb up on the mountain was sporting its Xmas decorations - a string of half a dozen coloured lightbulbs, so I took several pictures in the hope of getting a good one. Also a good picture of the moon - note the central cones in some of the craters near the terminator.
