There was plenty of other traffic on the river, with barges moving in both directions. I particularly like the one carrying a 'digger' whose bucket is dangerously close to being used as a sheet anchor. Some Brits went for a felucca ride. They had a good wind so did not need towing in either direction.
The wind has moved round to the north, so temperatures were a little cooler. But as I was about the only customer at Blue Sky I got both the fan and the ice-bucket to keep my beer cool.
As for the intrigue hinted at yesterday, it is confirmed that a prominent ex-pat has returned to England. Suggestions are still circulating that this is for medical reasons - he broke a knee in a motorbike accident last month. But there are other suggestions that are rather more sinister.
The pizza at Fayrouz was excellent last night - they have gone back to preparing a much thinner base, so there is less for the cats.
