It was well worth the wait, and I had an extra couple of slices with butter and honey. Plus a few biscuits from Atta's and some strong coffee.
Afterwards I took a few pictures of the terrace outside the master bedroom (where I had earlier viewed the balloons), before going out the side door which looks onto a garden shared with Mohamed next door.
The stairs to the roof had a bit of a camber, as is quite usual. The handrail was being used to air some carpets, and a thorny shrub was hiding the top part. But I successfully completed the ascent.
The roof terrace was very clean and well paved, with the domes from the entrance area and bedrooms in good condition. Seeing another rectangular area with a translucent plastic cover reminded me that I hadn't included the laundry room in my interior pictures.
Why are the roof terraces at Hotel Sheherazade (and Panorama House) not completed to this standard? There were no light bulbs in the sockets, and no furniture, but otherwise the roof terrace was ready for use. Plenty of power points, although I didn't test them. Views over the fields to Embrace Hotel with the Theban mountains in the background. Paddocks for the nearby stables... .
