At least my card was not maxed out and I was able to use it for some shopping and to top up my Vodafone.
I had a good dinner at Kam Thai, which was busier than usual. 2 other (oriental) customers, and a take-away order for 6 while I was there. Details and pictures are on my Facebook Page, including a readable copy of the current menu.
As it is nearby, I returned after dinner to Emirates Bank. The machine was working. The upper limit offered was LE4000 which I assume took account of my other spending on the card today. So I requested it. The card came out, cash was audibly being counted and then the message "Unable to dispense cash" followed by "Transaction reversed". Nice try, but no more cash.
Bearing in mind the cost of driving to and from Luxor for 3 hours (say LE400) I was hardly any better off than at the beginning of the day, and will have to spend another afternoon in The Big City later in the week.
And it was by far the warmest day of the year: approaching 30°C. The promise is warmer tomorrow, but I suspect that rain is coming.
No need for a jumper in the evening at the RRH, where a Stella was very welcome.
