This is very much a tourist resort, although not as brash as its neighbours. Finding good local restaurants and cafes willbe hard work, although I think that Statos, between me and the beach, will be good. I checked it out for a nightcap and read the menu, as well as observing the all-Greek clientele, the food being cooked and served, and a quck Retsina (€3.20 for 50ml).
Earlier I had eaten in a sea-front restaurant where the food was good, but did not really feel greek, and watched the football (Blackpool vs Birmingham) in a very quiet bar.
As you can tell, I have set up the wi-fi (speed a bit slow, but acceptable on the balcony). I'm sitting here, watching the hills, birds and traffic, overlooking a small orchard (lemon, orange, grape, etc.) and wondering how to spend my day. It is probably too early to find anywhere open for breakfast, and I didn't visit the supermarket last night.
Google Earth is a bit slow, but I've marked up my location and measured how far (or near) I walked last night. That has killed some time, so I think I will take the camera down to the beach.
