She's asleep! Why oh why choose to have a new dog just before term starts? A dog too that is quite determined, pint-sized though she is, she will have the final say. We have begun to establish that might not just be the case but ...
I did suggest the other day she might like to find a better hotel. She just looked at me, gave me a wet lick, and went back to snoozing on my lap. I could try packing her bag I suppose but it's raining tonight and she doesn't like getting wet at least not rain wet. She doesn't mind her nose in the pond but that's different. There was a reason for suggesting she might like a better hotel. She has managed three times and (and possibly more that I don't know about) to squeeze a pint-sized body through the only gap in the wall to investigate next door. I do take umbrage at having to lean over a 3 1/2 foot high wall, reach out as far as I can because she knows she's in trouble so stays just out of arm's reach, grab her by whatever fur I can which at the moment isn't much and haul her over the wall. Most undignified. For me. She just shakes herself, wags her tail and disappears into the house with a pleased as punch expression on her face. Definitely a new hotel is required ... though I might just put it back a bit until the weather gets a bit better.
