I've been attempting to resolve multiple computer issues - I don't like the touch-pad or touch-screen on laptops, much preferring a traditional mouse. My mouse of choice is a blue-tooth one, as I only have a single old-style USB port that I like to use for other things. But the Bluetooth hardware/software on the computer has an intermittent fault. The mouse locks up or bluetooth disappears completely. Wait a day and it may be o.k. again.
So I revert to an old Logitech M187 mouse. This uses a traditional USB port, but I'll put up with the inconvenience. But the buttons on that device are not properly recognised and it is a pig to open and clean. It moves the pointer around the screen and I can use the touchpad when I need to click. Again very inconvenient.
I suspect that I have a wired USB mouse somewhere in my room. I will dig that out tomorrow and see if it still works.
The goats at the RRH are very intelligent beasts. They wander round at a sedate pace, mainly as a group. They don't sh!t or pee everywhere like dogs do. They don't beg for food like dogs or cats do. Their worst habit is searching the waste bins for anything remotely edible. And they keep the garden trimmed. I definitely approve of them (although I'm still on the lookout for recipes!).
It is very quiet in the evenings - few foreigners at the RRH, some very quiet nights at Fayrouz. Few visitors to Habou Gardens in the afternoon. Yet Sheherazade has been busy, with guests, diners, pool users. Large groups of French tour parties at lunch time. The guests have been very quiet in the evenings and the mornings - I assume they are on a schedule of early nights and early mornings.
Preparations are under way for Aida at the weekend. I don't yet know what road closures will be involved. Opera-goers from the east bank will come by coach over the bridge, or maybe use the Tourist Ferry. I make this judgement based on the street repairs taking place.
Temperature is finally down to 32C today. Quite a strong wind with it. Too many flies around though.
